GUARDIA Civil imposters face prison sentence after kidnapping drug baron’s wife in Spain
TWO men, posing as Guardia Civil officers, each face a
13-year prison sentence for kidnapping a drug-baron’s wife in Galicia.
Along with another man, who was never identified, visited the Vilagarcia de Arousa home of the wife of 49-year-old drugs kingpin Jose Ramon Dorgambide, alias El Panadero.
At that time, Jose was behind bars for landing six tons of cocaine in an operation which featured 20 men being arrested.
The bogus Guardia Civil officers tricked their way into the house by telling a domestic employee they were there to deliver a summons.
Once inside, she and El Panadero’s wife were tied up, hooded and taken to an abandoned warehouse, where the impostors threatened to kill El Panadero’s wife unless she told them where the money was hidden.
One held a pistol to her head and, showing her a photo of her daughter, threatened to mutilate her. “Which finger shall we start with?” they asked.
El Panadero’s wife finally gave in, and, once the money was in the abductors’ possession, both women were driven back to the house.
“We have friends in the Guardia Civil, so we’ll know what you tell them,” was their captors’ final warning.
