Residents of India need not look too far when considering
shopping holidays. In fact, the city of Mumbai has
some unique opportunities for those who like to plan their trips
around finding the latest fashions, and the New York Times recently
reported on a new store that certainly fits the bill.
Dubbed the first pride store in India by its owners, Azaad
Bazaar celebrates those with alternative lifestyles. The
LGBT-friendly outlet has a wide range of trinkets with which one
can celebrate his or individuality, but it also includes some
locally-made crafts.
For instance, visitors can browse some of the locally-made denim
bags which were crafted by the artist"s collective, Art Oxygen, and
retail for around 500 rupees each. Additionally, anyone can opt to
show off their pride with rainbow shirts, scarves and other pieces
of apparel, the news provider reveals.
While on shopping holidays, it"s always fun to find
new places to try, and those journeying to Mumbai can make a point
to stop at the Azzad Bazaar during their trip.
