Holidaymakers from the UK are increasingly choosing to venture beyond the eurozone, it has been revealed. According to Lastminute.com, British consumers are keen to destinations that offer the best possible value for money, reports Holiday Extras. This is because the pound recently slumped to an all-time low against the single European currency, a development which has driven up the price of travelling to places such as France and Spain. John Bevan, managing director of the online travel agency, highlighted Turkey as one popular destination, as the number of bookings is 14 per cent up on this time last year. He commented: "This summer our customers are going where their pound will take them further and where good bargains are to be had." Mr Bevan added that consumers have exhibited "strong interest" in non-eurozone countries this year. This comes after the Post Office reported a surge in demand for Turkish currency among British consumers. The organisation described the country as one of the "best-value" destinations in Europe.
