THE 2018 Scottish challenge begins on Tuesday, and, as usual, there have been last minute-changes, and players suddenly unavailable. Nothing new there!
I’d like to thank George Fagan, my Scotland counterpart, because this event wouldn’t even have started in the first place. But, for the past 10 years, he has brought over the most amazing group of lads and lassies from his bonny land.
Team captain, as always, is Mark McGregor, who’s not only a top pool player, but also a top bloke. He skippers the likes of Alex Coffey, Scott Eadie and Teemas McWhirter, to name but a few, and they are perfect examples of the calibre of players our Pool Superleague will be up against.
All competitors in the League were invited to compete in this year’s challenge, and players from eight teams have signed up for the event.
They comprise two teams from Camp Nauta, two from Scruffy Macs, T.P.T, and three teams from Legends. And, for the first time, a non-league team, Gaffers Bar, will also join us.
Please come and join the fun.
Legends Bar, Tuesday 20th Feb (7pm)

Cheap Flights to St.Petersburg, RussiaSt. Petersburg is the place miracles are made. Today, Russia’s second largest city is known for its stunning tsarist architecture, fashionable restaurants, shopping and electric nightlife, all set along the beautiful Neva River. But St. Petersburg is also the site of some of the most pivotal moments in Russia's history, most notably the Siege of Leningrad.
One of the most awesome spectacles you can see once you've stepped off a flight to St. Petersburg are the “white nights” that occur in the city in the summer. Find cheap flights to St. Petersburg in June and July and watch in awe as the city glows from the prolonged twilight. The sun never drops far enough below the horizon to create the usual nighttime darkness, so the city is constantly lit up under the miraculous white light.
